« Why Shaheen Wirk Starts Charity to Help Children of Cancer Victims »

In Chapter 9 of 17 in his 2012 Capture Your Flag interview, hedge fund analyst Shaheen Wirk answers "How Have You Made Philanthropy a Higher Priority in Your Life?"  Wirk shares his decision to start the Dream Hope Believe Foundation / Brant Walton Memorial Fund in memory of a lost friend and to support young children who have lost a parent to cancer.  After many years of charitable giving, mainly writing checks and volunteering, Wirk takes the step to create something of his own influenced by the story connecting element of non-profit Kiva.  Shaheen Wirk is a senior hedge fund analyst for Bridger Capital focused on pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device investment research and analysis.  Wirk earned his BS in Biology and Joint MD / MBA degrees from Duke University.  He co-founded the Dream Hope Believe Foundation / Brant Walton Memorial Fund to provide grants to children and young people who have lost parents to cancer.
